Help r154 shifter extension
Okay guys I have a 95 sc300 auto and I will be doing the 5spd swap to the r154. The r154 I have is out of an mk3 supra. I already have the bell housing and all that. My question is how many inches do I need to extend the shifter? I will be cutting the hole in the trans an moving it forward where the 5spd would normally be. I have read all the threads. And there is so many mixed reviews. I have read anywhere from 2.5 - 4 inches.
the stock soarer extension is 1.0" + another 0.5" in the swan shifter. If you are using a Mk3 supra shifter (which is straight in comparison to mine out of an early model soarer) you will need to extend 1.5" minimum.. extending 2-3" would help fit near the auto hole.

please post in the thread which aleady has tons of info on this.
you have an auto hole. extend 1.5-2.5" if you want to use the bent shifter.
extend 4" if you want to make a custom straight shifter and most likely drill a new hole.
