Hello, My name is Clark, and in August I traded my 240 for a slightly modified, rather-beaten up 93 SC. Acquired: Drift SC but started from the bottom-image-3631663661.jpg Drift SC but started from the bottom-image-1276894337.jpg Things it had: VIS carbon hood, LS400 front brakes, welded differential, 95 tails, Tein springs, custom exhaust. Wheels are TSW Kyalami, 18/19. So I had a pretty good start, but the condition of the car was rather horrid....everywhere. First mod? Seats. Ebay, but at least they look good and don't remind me of a shooting target! Drift SC but started from the bottom-image-1916380295.jpg Next up was paint. So long, ten shades of black and random near-black. For those wondering, OEM color was red. Drift SC but started from the bottom-image-3129139877.jpg D2 Coilovers were installed, and power steering (!) Drift SC but started from the bottom-image-2559044788.jpg Lately I've been doing major work on the interior. Drift SC but started from the bottom-image-4188293793.jpg Mostly OEM. About half of it was not there or awful when the car was bought....things like door handles, window switches, steering surround, wiper switch, radio (no speakers but at least it looks good), power outlet, shift ****, visors, driver's seat belt, back seats (still not in), top door corner speaker covers....you get the point. All of the rest was cleaned profusely after years of neglect.

Problems so far? Electrical gremlins with lights, and an ignition coil. And tires on those TSW's seem to all have issues, all the time.

Welcome to CL, and congrats on your pick up! I'm diggin the Super Bee too! Check it the D.I.Y. section as well, most of the problems you will experience with owning your Lexus. Chances are it's a problem other members have had and figured out the fix to it?

Continue bringing back to best condition and improving upon the original design - plus drift - odd combination, maybe, but certainly fun.

Unfortunately through research, I picked up a part, but don't know where it goes. I created a thread for it.

I also now need a wheel bearing. I have owned this car for a half year and the past week it has decided the honeymoon is over with my wallet. Hopefully this is the last issue for now, but sadly I have to let the dealer take care of this. There goes my new instrument panel money too - half-dead '300 dash is in the car.

The bee is the daily, and for my father when he comes to town - hope the bearing is fixed before he comes back.

Side markers and brights fixed, more or less. I also have acquired another set of '95 tails, harnesses and all. Installed those since they were brand new so I'm selling mine. All is there minus two of the small bulbs. There is a little black overspray but you don't see it unless you look for it. Not much at all in the way of sun fade. These are the ones from the pictures. If anyone wants them, I'll let them go for like $200 plus shipping. It's a little lower than any fleabay ones.

Edit: gotten a few pms about the springs too - these have already been promised to a member here, sorry.

Little update. Rear calipers rebuilt, and control arm bushings in the process of being replaced - super excited about these.

New bushings in. Very, very tough job. But the clunk is gone and ride quality is much better. Very noticeable.

Raised it about 2 inches yesterday. The roads here are so terrible and my ride quality has improved greatly in addition to avoiding bottoming out. Shock travel is great.

Which bearing do you need to replace? The rear ones are a pain in the butt. Make sure to buy the inner and outer seals when you do it. Keep up the nice work. I wish you would have posted the before and after pictures...

Did that bearing awhile ago and I'll probably need to do it again soon to be honest.

I'll work on pics from today.

The last two is a video - not sure which one works.

Also, apparently my car had serious work done before, probably turbo. There are brackets in front of the radiator, and the trans cooler is moved to receive more airflow.

Half shaft bolts came loose...

I was driving today and I felt a bad feeling. Especially after noticing a camber difference between my driver and passenger side wheels. Something was rotten in the state of my SC!

So, I was checking all my suspension bits (one ended up being loose) but I noticed a circular spray of some fluid....wait, that's grease from my new axle. I then noticed it was spinning....oddly, as if it were a bit lagging where it meets the diff.

That's about when I noticed the bolts were freely moving about.

Tightened 'em up, just a rookie mistake...grabbing loctite and redoing tomorrow.
