How much does YOUR sc weight?
I think it would be interesting to see what kinda numbers numbers you guys achieved on the the scales. List your key points aswell to show why your car is at its current weight. If this has been covered in another thread i apologize but i couldnt find anything from searching. Il be getiing mine weighed sometime soon.
The point of this thread is to see what weight reducing factors your car has to see what kinda results you pulled of.

There is a great thread on what useless junk we could get rid f out of heavy tuna boats, but it hasn't been bumped in quite awhile. I would say maybe 3800-4200 pounds, what mine weighs.
Gerrb, you know us Georgia boys. Automatically add half a ton for all that fried food, down home cooking and our Chikfila diets.
I cleaned a bunch of junk out of mine and was going to weigh it. Then I had to add the frakkin sandbags back in for traction.

Stock weight of my 5-speed was supposed to have been 3,506lbs.
Before I had my R154 installed and changed a lot of components I estimated (based on weight measures people had posted of the stock SC parts going out and MKIV parts going in) that I'd dropped to about 3,405lbs give or take a few.
After swapping out my W58 for an R154 I think it's up again to about 3,455lbs, give or take. Once I swap in my USDM twin system it should add roughly 105lbs on top of that, plus the IC and piping.
I'd love to actually weigh the car but I don't know of a place I can do this locally. I've heard of using truck weigh stations on highways but I didn't think cars are allowed onto the scales.

Im shooting for 3200 pounds or under. I already have done a few things to bring the weight down but stil getting some lightweight buckets and gutting the whole area from the backseats. Also other small things here andthere, i definitly wana get a weight number before and after the interior work to ee what kinda of a difference it truly is.

You can see where this is going. It's not the kind of car that you're going to get fantastic weight numbers from without removing all normal safety and comforts down to the sheet metal.
Please don't misconstrue my words to suggest a harsh tone. I looked into this myself when I first bought my car but it's just not an easy thing to remove too much weight. Getting close to stock MKIV TT curb weight (3400lbs roughly) is a mostly attainable goal without completely gutting the car and still retaining turbo hardware up front.

There is a lot of fat to cut off of these cars without gutting the interiors. Mostly depends on what your willing to do without to be lighter. Yes I deleted my sunroof and A.C. knowing if the temp. over 95 or so degrees I can drive something else with A.C. Gives more room to do service around engine and less weight. Our engine are good, but not 300h.p. good.
I need to put it on a scale, but my guess is due to the lightweight seats, CF hood, rear window trim gone (hey it's 10 lbs), exhaust, back seats gone, audio system gone, gutted trunk, no window motors (just the way it came on that one...) on an auto '93 400....I'm probably down 150-200lbs from stock. So maybe 3400 lbs curb.
My '92 SC 300 weighed 3,450 without me in it, with a aftermarket sub in the rear deck, all speakers replaced, and no spare. The weight distribution was 48/52 I believe. I was surprised with that number, actually.

Something else for people to look at is the modern cars of today. You look at cars in the same class as the SC like BMW, Audi, or Mercedes they weight more then the SCs and are still faster/better fuel economy because of modern technology, if you really want to compete with them in either speed or fuel economy buy a modern motor for your car.
