When I bought my car, I noticed a little light on the dash, later to find out it is the airbag light. So I bought an IS300 Steering Wheel and Airbag along with the adapter so I wouldn't have to splice into the existing harness.

I just finished replacing it, come to find the light still on. Should I go ahead and find another airbag module and spring clock? I am trying to find out because my inspection is due in March so I need to get it done asap.

I have a similar problem. I've been told that it could be the airbag ECU that needs to be replaced. It's located underneath the radio. Not sure how or why those go bad, or if they actually do. Also check the front side impact sensors located behind each fender, I guess check if theyre missing or not plugged in? I've checked mine and theyre intact, but have not got around to looking at the airbag ECU.

If the cruise control and I believe hazard button works, then the clockspring is alright IIRC

 

My Hazards do work, but my cruise does not! It didn't work with my old steering wheel.

 

Its probably been in a accident or the cluster was replaced. Try resetting it too see what happens.
