Default Pcv valve hose

I recently replaced my pcv valve, grommet and unfortunately in the process, the hose broke.. I replaced it with some regular hose. Can this eventually become a problem? lexus wants like 30 for the 8 inch L-shaped hose

moved to performance and maintenance.
It is not really a problem to replace it but try and not use the regular vacuum hose as they may develop cracks and or rip soon, but use a small rubber piece of heater hose or a reinforced hose and that should last as long as the original, its not much more expensive and you only need a short amount and you can get it by the foot at any auto store. the oil vapor and hot gasses that go through there would wear down the regular vac hose and it would split at the seam sooner or later.

you dont need to use the L shape... i just got heater hose and did a loop from the intake to the pcv valve. works fine... And like Ali SC3 said.. do not use regular vac hose

You are a new user here, in case you do not know Sewell Lexus has really good prices for Club Lexus members. The hose is $13.21 on there, of course with shipping it costs more, but Sewell offers great shipping prices when you add a bunch of stuff in your order all at once. I find I can order a dozen or so items and it ships for about $13 every time so make use of their combined item shipping rates.

Make sure you check that you are a Club Lexus member and you will get a discount on their already cheap prices. Order a bunch of stuff, fix it all, the more the better.
