Default sc300 or sc400 front bumper?

I just recently bought a 92 sc300 and the guy i bought it from had an sc400 scrap car that i could pull anything off. So i pulled the front bumper off of it. having a hard time deciding which one to go with.

I plan on eventually getting a lip kit for my car and i'm not familiar with the lip kits for these. do the sc300 and 400 have the same options for lip kits? or what?

They're the same car cosmetically. No difference between bumpers unless one of the cars is pre '96 and the others post '97.
Most people prefer the '97 bumper, 'cus its a little more elegant, with the grill included; but whether it's an SC3 or an SC4 they're the same bumper on both cars. The only differences are whether it's a '92-'96, or if it's a '97-'00.

'92-'96 Bumper

'97-'00 Bumper

Minor additional information:
There is a styrofoam piece (impact absorber) behind the skin, that is different as well between the two styles.

I love the look of the 92-94 sc400 bumper with the OEM lip. I put a OEM lip on my 96 bumper and got it painted, but it just isn't the same.

Nope, there are some 92-96 SCs that put some 97+ SCs to shame. Lol

I think the 97+ bumper helped the last ones not look outdated many years into the 2000+ years, well after production. The others look a bit more dated to me. But that's just my 2 cents. The older ones may even look "classier" while the newer one is "sportier." All preference.

When I bought my 1994 SC400 in 1996 I wasn't really aware of the slight bumper differences from the 1994 model to the 1995-6 models. But as time went by I enjoyed what I saw as a little racier look to the lower rubber lip on the earlier models. Whether it actually made any aero difference I have no clue, but the look was nice.

Nope. I loved the aggressive look of my old 92 SC400. I currently own a 97 SC400 and like it too. Would like to own both but I'm not getting rid of my Supra nor do I have room for 3 cars lol.

You should definitely go with the 97 but theres nothing wrong with the earlier years! Heres my 92 with lip before my wreck 2 days ago, makes a good excuse for an upgraded bumper, thinking about Shine Auto all around..
