Default Door Wiring Issue

Hey guys,

So here is the problem. Whenever i use my window buttons on my door to roll down the windows, i hear a buzzing sound. Originally i thought it was the actual instrument that was broken but if i move around the wires coming out of the front of the door, it works again until i shut the door. I am assuming there is a wire that is broken contact somewhere or maybe a broken wire. I tried taking off the door panel but there is a metal cover that covers all the wires in the door.

My question is: How do I get to the wires so that i can fix it. I did all the research possible but couldn't find any threads that took the door apart past the door panel.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm hoping to take another crack at it this weekend.

Thanks

check the ground wire in the rubber boot between the door and the chassis over time they tend to break or get weak and sometime have a contact and sometimes not. had this same exact thing happen a few months ago in my car.
this is the one im talking about

Yes that's where I thought the issue is too. But I didn't see any breaks in any of the wires so I figured its behind the door. I'll check again but is there a way to look at the wired beyond the section behind the gromet?

were you able to check all of the wiring in the boot because i had to cut mine off to get the middle of it where the break in my ground was i just taped it back together.

beyond the gromet on the door side im not sure havent taken the doors apart on mine yet. the chassis side im sure you could gain access by removing the kick panel

Big white wire with thin black stripe. That's the problem.

I de-pinned all the connectors from the plugs to get the boot off then soldered the wire back together.

Nice so I just unpin them and pull them from the front of the door? I'd prefer not to cut the boot

You should be able to peel back the boot, how far, not sure.... Just try it and see..
