Default How to make tacho meter work?

Hi,

I have a sc400 with 2jzgte and R154 transmission. unfortunately mechanic who did this swap didnt know how to make speedo-meter and tacho meter work. however my temperature, fuel gauge and handbrake lights etc are working.

It was a auto car and 2jzgte is from aristo and replaced auto with a R154. i want to make stock gauge cluster work... is anyone here aware or can guide me how to make my gauge cluster work?

Thanks,

Remove the cluster and jump resisitor 109 or 73, depending on which cluster you have. If it is a 1992, then prolly be a 109. Many threads on this.

my speedo got screwed up i guess... mechnic couldnt make it work at all same goes for tacho meter too. its a 92/93 gauge cluster. I'm currently using APEXI RSM for speed and external tacho meter but i want to make it look as stock as possible from inside (however my setup is 600rwhp)

Can anyone point me at that thread or let me know exactly what needs to be done?

I think you probably need an sc300 cluster for the tach to work properly since you went from a v8 to an i6. You may be able to buy a digital converter box and make it work, but an sc300 cluster may be easier...

You can wire directly from the igniter to the back of the cluster. And the R154 is going to need an adapter, as it's cable driven. Once you get the adapter you can go through the wiring harness or run a wire directly to the back of the cluster. Here's some diagrams.
