Seats
My Driver seat gearing is striped and wont let the seat go frwd or bckwd but does go up and down. It is currenting pushed back fully. I have had no luck on finding info on how to remove the seat with or with out the lower mechanism. Has anyone run into this problem before? Any help woter then saying i need some flex tool to get to who knows what. Looking for real information or tutorial/s on getting this done so i can avoid taking it to a mechanic or upulstry shop.
Also if anyone is in the orlando area and knows a good place to get my seats recovered with leather for quality work and good prices i would like the info.
Thank you

Removing the seats is very very simple, I removed them 2 years ago to redo them myself. From what I remember each front seat is held down by 4 bolts one at each corner then just disconnect the heater plug and harness to the rest of the motors, simple. Search the forum under "removing front seats" and you will find several very well documented DIY tutorials. The difficult question is how much money do you want to spend on fixing the seat...? You can buy used parts, aftermarket parts or Lexus parts. You can get the seat upholstered by a shop that will charge you $1000 or you can purchase semi custom covers from eBay for $300 DIY and still have them look good. Good luck with your project.
I had removed mine for the first time yesterday. Front corners of seats are held by one 13mm bolt, and rear inners by 2 13mm, outer corner by one. The inner rear bolt covers (somewhat L shaped or angled) near transmission tunnel can be pried off. For the other bolt covers I would suggest using a hook pick to pull clamps off. Areas where you insert the hook clamp should be marked on both side of the cover.
You should have no issue doing this even with no power
Also once you have all bolts removed push/pivot seats rear to disconnect seat harness
