messed up my sc400 today :,(
i was driving to school tthis morning with my friends in the rain and got in a 4 car collision. so some idiot ahead of us slams on his brakes and makes all of us hit eachother. my hood, front bumper, and rear bumper are toast. no structual damage from what i can tell. i just hope it doesnt get totaled by insurance. no body is hurt, im just really pissed off.

Considering the year/age the insurance company, will mostly total the vechile. Sad to hear about your misfortune and your from my state (MD) too.

yeah... once insurance companys and repair shops see 
on your car you're pretty much screwed. if reapirs are more than the "value" of the car it's considered totaled. Luxury = $$$. even if its really a toyota they dont see it that way. "oh, you drive a fancy lexus you can obviously afford a loss so we can make money off of you and your car. sucks to be you"

the person i hit's insurance told me my car was most likely totalled, they asked me if i wanted to keep the car or give them the car, The car had a rebuilt title, i asked them if i keep the vehicle and just take the money will my title change to salvaged again? they told me it can still be my rebuilt title, the adjuster didn't look at my frame he just looked at the exterior damage though but still said it was totalled.

depending on how hard, it could possibly have twerked the frame (knock on wood) but insurance is a PITA most of the time, thats why when I get hit or hit people, I get my contacts to get my **** or the other persons stuff cheaper.

I know how ya feel. just be strong and don't let the insurance company drill you because they will, it's their job. they put ridiculous amounts together. according to a damage estimate just a window is $700 from the dealership even though its a $150 toyota window. and that's the amount they add up in damage it's so easy for them to exceed a cars value. they just hope you give in and take the insulting amount of money so they can make even more off your "lexus". chances are you could part the car out damaged for more than they will offer.
I can't express doing everything you can to KEEP THE CAR! and take the money they offer you to buy another one. now you have parts from your old car you could either sell or swap out on the new car. never know when you might need another tps. and in a way some of your old car is still on the road. =P
hope things work out. I hate hearing someone loose a car they enjoyed. being a fellow enthusiast myself I feel ya, it's a chance we all take. It sucks to put blood sweat,tears, and hard earned money into a vehicle that could be considered junk tomarrow because of some DWI or text-er.

yeah, the $333 difference I lose if i keep the car vs giving the car is much much worth it, I kept my car and I'm going to be selling it to a friend for $800 since its still running and everything with a rebuilt title, he gets a cheap drift car (since my frame is bent, he is chopping it off and doing a full tube front and tubs) and i get some money from my car atleast which i will be putting into a 98+ soon.
