Default Can you drive SC without the front bumper

I have to take the bumper off and that means
No lights, no front license plate and compromised safety in case of an accident.

Q: Without the bumper is the vehicle still drive-able .. say 60mph or there will be things flapping?

You should be fine unless you've removed any of the plastic undercarriage pieces. IMO

I see Supras and other JZ cars at shops without front bumpers. I am sure they can handle 60mph. It's not aerodynamically effective at all but sure it can work. I wouldn't past 80-85mph though. Legally if your state requires a front plate that's an issue.

Let's just say I drove my RX for about a week and a half while I was repainting my front bumper in high school without it. I used mini bungee cords and help up all the under shielding and went on my way. Got some great looks, but who cares. But, I still had my lights and what not.

Thank you for the replies... Unlike most cars the SC bumper is chin-nose& lip all combined with the headlights mounted on the bumper. The household will go crazy if we are down to only one vehicle that can be driven. How quickly we get dependent on our vehicles.

The bumper is completely independent of the headlights. Completely. The only lights you'll be missing are markers and cornering lights. No big deal.

Lol at 85, my daily hasn't had a bumper in weeks think I saw 135 last night.

^^This, with the exception of the high-beams. The high-beams will use 4-10mm bolts that attach the upper section of the bumper. Put those 4 back in and your good to go.

The SC bumper will do very little to "aid" in safety of an accident, as long as your crash bar is in place your good to go.

Zip tie plate to front support, remove plastic fender liners and the lower splash guard, put the 4 bolts back in place for the high-beams and your good to go.

My friend drove his 1JZ SC around for a while without a bumper and didn't have any trouble. Another friend drove his MKIV Supra without a bumper for a few weeks without any problems. Tie the license plate down and you should be alright.

yeah I would put the headlights back in after bumper removal that is what will be a safety issue if you get caught out after dark or something.
