Default Quick Question

Saw a dude on craigslist selling a greddy strut bar for the supra. I refrained from picking it up as he said there was small notch made in order to fit it. My question does this affect the integrity of the part? If so how much?

don't really know unless you had some sort picture of it? sounds fishy for Greddy to make a Supra strut bar and not have it fit. I wouldn't bother unless you can get it on the cheap because of the said damage.

Ya not sure where the notch is, or what he did to his engine that would require it. Normally if they dont fit (as per the Carbing stb on certain year 400's), all you need is a few bushings so it sits higher and has that extra few millimetres to everything.

I'd go slow (but I am kind of nervous). I'd worry about the temper of the steel.

he's talking about a aftermarket strut bar that connects the top of the strut towers. you want them to be strong so you can go fast and reduce roll
