I need to remove my Climate Control unit and send it back to Lextech because almost all the bulbs plus the LCD have gone out. It was just done late last year.
Anyway if I remove the unit can I still use the car while it's out without throwing any codes or lighting up the CEL?

If you mean using the car in general while that space is not occupied, no problemo. If you mean using the A/C while the unit is gone, you would have to jerryrig some contraption switch and even then, the CEL would most likely stay asleep.

This is a crappy problem I've foreseen and am trying to time the weather perfectly before I send my climate control in. So it's not too hot and not too cold lol
Make sure to tell the tech your car has issue with voltage spikes. Losing one over a year due to issues with the led might be foreseeable, but losing a few means your car is spiking the led's.
O. L. T. can you elaborate on the voltage spikes? What causes this and what is the solution. Could this also be the problem with my bright white LCD which is now light gray?
