I think you were highly misinformed if you are under the impression that $300 will get you any kind of measureable performance (speed) gain with this car.

$300 will get you a detail, oil change, tank of gas, a few Wendy's spicy chicken nuggets and a very satisfying day overall. It will not, however, get you any meaningful power gains.

Add a zero to that number and MAYBE you'll see some major power upgrades.

Like everyone else has said, $300 will not get you much. Plus the fact that you own a 300 with a 2jz, it will be much easier going the turbo route than supercharging, just FYI. Go check out some build threads and try to get knowledgeable on your car, its fun!

I'm going to step out on a limb and assume the OP means 300hp not 300 in currency. For the NA route you're looking at BFI/H/E, cams, upgraded tq converter or manual swap and an AFC with a tune & that should do the trick. NA-T is a definitive method of achieving your mark & there are plenty of tried & true components for you to piece together the perfect kit. SC "is" an option, but generally more towards the 400, because of the significant involvement required to turbo it, but an option nonethelss. You can also go the well paved 1jz route, or if you are feeling adventurous the LSx route. All very detailed throughout the forum.

The real questions are what do you want out of your car and how much of the work are you going to do yourself?

If you just want a spirited DD & have basic abilities & knowledgeable friends or access to a good shop that will cut you slack on labor, go NA-T & leave it auto for now & source a 5 speed later when you get the next itch to mod. You'll love the car under mild boost & when you begin to itch for more the manual conversion will make it feel like a whole new car.

After that options I would suggest are the 1jz swap, then the LSx swap, then the Supercharger, then the GTE swap.

Don't forget all your basic maintenace item and supporting mods too

Could always throw some nitrous at it. But even that would cost more than 300 dollars.

Man my advice to you is to just save your money and go NA-T or 1J swap it, $300 is like a cheap intake and a muffler delete lol.

thats just a fancy fan, but I did just recently see a $250 supercharger off a previa that had me wondering... still all in all would be much more than $300
