Ive been thinking about putting a 99 uz into my 97 sc400. What would need to bee done to get it to work? One of my friend wrecked his 99 and he told me he'll sell me the motor for $500.

 

alot of stuff the 99 is vvti, so you will need the harness and ecu, and I think maybe immobilizer issues.
someone else can chime in it is possible but you will need alot of stuff from the 99 if he is willing to let you take all the stuff you need then it might be a good idea.
