Default Need some recommendations for turbo

First i'll apologize, i don't have access to a conputer so iphone posts it is.

I've got a stock 2jz-gte in my 97 sc300, with the stock twins, i was looking to upgrade to a single turbo/QSV and start building my car for a 500+ hp daily driver.
I have the opportunity to get a Precision 6265 dual ball bearing billet wheel, with a compressor surge housing and aftermarket twinscroll hot side.
I'm curious as to if i should be looking for a different turbo, or how my engine will perform with the 6265/QSV.

Your engine will spool up nicely with that and achieve your goals. I see no reason why you couldn't if you have the other supporting mods such as fuel, injectors, etc. I like the sound of the BW compared to Precision, but to each is own, in your likings.

You can make that power on a much smaller turbo if you want to maximize spool, however that turbo will get you there with a lot more room to spare if you want more in the future.

Yeah, i feel 600hp would be the higher end of my goals. I'm just wondering what the lag will be like, even with a quick spool valve.

How many lbs of boost with a proper tune would get me to 600hp on a 60-61mm?

Stay with the 62mm precussion (lol) it will more than accommodate your goal and the rpm turbo lag your so worried about will be minimal especially on a QSV what size rear housing????
Are you on/ or going E-85???
Gear car or automatic???

I would say you will get spool on the 6265 at 3800-4100 rpms and it will take about 23-25psi to reach 600hp on a 5spd

Im not so much worried with the spool time, i just would like to see the QSV with my own eyes.
I have no plans to run E85 as there are no stations that pump it in the local area (hour drive to anywhere that does)
Currently on the stock lexus 4 speed auto, which i'll replace with either a built automatic/5speed manual (going to hold off on this for alittle later)
The 6265 has an 84 twin scroll hot side

An 84mm twin scroll is like a 70mm open, this turbo will spool up pretty dam quick especially with a QSV.
Your using an open manifold??

Personally I don't like QSV's just another moving part to fail IMO.
Also 600hp on a stock auto is going to be very difficult to achieve due to lock up on the converter and the valve body with out enough line pressure to hold.
I believe your going to blow right through the converter and over heat the trans.

I doubt the stock tranny will handle a lick over the hp it is with the stock twins at 21 psi, i wasn't planning on putting the turbo on until i have replaced the tranny/driveshaft.
This turbo belongs to my cousin, he just pulled it off his eclipse, its sitting in his room with the 4 banger manifold next to it, i'd have to buy a manifold separately.
