clutch problem?

Default clutch problem?

i have a maunal (w58) trans in my car and the clutch catch point is high. There is no slippage and no grinds at all and last owner said he replaced it in 2010 and after he said there was a lot of material left. please help so i know if i have to replace the clutch.

You can try adjusting the rod under the dash. Try 1/2 turn at a time. you also need to adjust the pedal rest stop if you adjust the rod.

What do you mean the catch point is high?

Before you start worrying about replacing the clutch check the easy stuff.
Check your clutch master cylinder for fluid and check the pedal for free play.

i do know the fluid is bad..it is black. could it cause it to be that high?

last owner took trans and motor out a lot could it be adjustment and good as new?

bleed your clutch master cylinder and if the problem pertains then go look at the other possibilities.
