Cluster compatibility vs rebuild
Guys I apologize ahead of time and hope I don't get lit up for this. I am looking to buy an SC400 instrument cluster. I know the cluster is not compatible with my SC300, but are the motors and needles the same?
Can't find this info at all
Or should I just send the thing in to have it rebuilt?
Thanks

I had quotes to rebuild my cluster for 250+shipping and $500(he may have said 500-800 but i thought he was joking, local ofc). I am picking one up from the local junkyard in working condition for $100. (97 sc300)
As for compatibility I am a useless newbie, sorry

97+ cluster will only work with a 97+. There are different plugs on the back. Of course you can hack and hardwire, but ain't nobody got time for dat.
Any 92-96 cluster is compatible. There are differences within the needles and ODO/time, but they will be functional. I've noticed that my outside temp doesn't work when using an older 92-94 cluster on a 95 though.
