Ok, I think its time we find out what the darn sunroof is suppose to do.. I think the cars have a brain (literally) that knows the people who remember to close the sunroof and the people who don't.....

If so, mine is wrong about me...

Has anyone taken the controls to the sunroof apart? if so, could you post information on troubleshooting the wiring. Thanks

I just checked mine and it doesnt do a thing. I tried to tilt it open it and take the key out and everything. It didnt make any sounds at all. I left the gear in D and turned the car off and it didnt make any sound. I just couldnt take the key out of the ignitition. I left the lights on but they turn off when you open the drivers side door. I wonder whats wrong with my moonroof.

I have the same problem, the EXACT same problem..

Oh.. BTW I did some research, I contacted Lexus of Jacksonville in Florida, and Hendreks Lexus in Charlotte, They both said that you should only hear the warning tone ONLY when the sunroof is in the lifted position NOT when it is in the slid back position.

My GS300 did it in any position as long as it was not closed.

There must be a switch or something... I wouldn't begin to know how to find this part..

i also found that strange, i have a 95 sc400 and my only beeps when i press the alarm on the key, but it never made any beep when i left my sunroof open..
on my moms 92 ls400, it beeps when the sunroof if lifted, but it doesnt beep when i press the alarm on the key..

the beep when the sunroof is lifted open, sounds like an alarm clock on your wrist watch.

Man this is really weird. Some people get a alarm clock beep some get a different beep and some get nothing. What did Lexus engineers do? My model doesnt have a keyless entry...would that make a difference? 3 people with a 95 SC400 and 2 are getting a beep and I'm not getting anything. Truly a strange problem.

I think the sunroof and the door lock beep are two completely different tones and not related..

The main question is: What is wrong with my sunroof that is does not beep when not completely closed? Someone has to have an answer to this.

I looked all over mine to see if there was a wire or a gravity switch of some sort, couldn't find anything. I also took the controls in the top center apart and still nothing... If one of you that has a model that beeps could take that apart and take a picture of the actual tone generator (speaker), then one of us with one that does not work coul compair and see if we lack this part...
