First off 6000k isn't the brightest light you can get. 4300k is brighter. I don't know why everyone is obsessed with getting 6000k or higher temperature when they provide less light output. People buy them for the cool blue factor I guess.

I would buff your headlights and re-aim them. I'm using the stock housing with a cheap chinese HID kit and they are plenty bright.

 

If you really like an awesome light output, check out Philips OEM HID systems. They're a lot more money, but I've seen them in person and it's amazing. Cost is roughly $265.00 and you can find them on "theretrofitsource dot com"

 

Best way to get the blue effect is by retrofitting a clear projector lens with a nice cutoff to get the blue spark effect people see form above the cutoff. Bulb color makes the car look cheap imo. 4300k-6000k at the most.

 

I never knew there was anything brighter than 6000k never saw anybody with it for sale

 

6000K refers to color temperature, not brightness. (A common misconception.) 4300K is the most useful color temperature that is closest to sunlight.

 

Our headlights suck short and simple , the light output is terrible with stock bulbs I have 5k 35w hid kit and it still sucks looking to get 55w kit next I heard it makes a decent difference

 

I've got 55w 4300k, and honestly it looks great to me, I still want to retrofit some TSX projectors, but it's a little ways down the list for me, but I'm pretty satisfied with 4300k 55w. It does make a difference, imo over the 35w.

 

I don't know what Toyota did to improve the headlamps in the 99+ models but I honestly have no complaints about their light output with the plug-n-play 5k HID kit I installed. This is coming from owning a 92 SC with TSX projectors retrofitted. The 99-00 headlamps are every bit as good as my TSX retrofits were minus the sharp cutoff line imo.

 

Let me add that I would also run 55w drop-in HIDs if I was buying a set today. Normally I'd say not to go that bright in a halogen housing but our cutoff is pretty good and you could use the extra light on the ground.

Newer projectors do well with 35w but our Flintstone projectors need a little extra help

headlight restore, 55w hid kit, and re-align headlights (our headlights can go up,down, and side to side.). my headlights are brighter than my moms e46 bmw with factory hid.

Does the LS460 projector even fit in the sc headlight? I have TSX projectors in mine right now and I had to shave off the mounting tabs to get it to fit in the lights.

 

Stock projector lens is not made for HID. As stated prior, best thing to do is retrofit a complete HID assembly into your headlight. HID's require specific lenses made to properly disperse the light. Also the multi color reflection is from the prism effect of the lens not the bulb. And 4300 series is the whitest and most visible light/color.
