Refinishing my Supra TT wheels

I ordered a center cap from lexus. Using the part number from this thread.

It is not the right fitment. The cap is too big, and sticks out of the wheel. Anyone know of the right part number?

It is the correct part number. I had the same problem with 3 out of 4 of the caps I got from them. One cap fit perfect with no dremeling and it was the exact same part number stamped on the cap as the rest, so I'm guessing that during the chroming process, it created this small ridge on the edge of the caps that prevented them from fitting flush against the wheel. I had to dremel the excess chrome/ lip off and it fit fine after that.

yeah, the color of the wheels is really nice. looks lighter in bright sunlight, and darker at night. But the center caps are annoying me a little. I think i need new ones to go with the curvature of the wheels and color matched a bit better.

Curious if anyone here has sent their polished TT wheels off for chrome plating? And if so would you mind sharing who you went with and the appx costs? I'd love to get mine chrome dipped but I'd have to ship the wheels off and shipping plus costs for plating + the money I already have in purchasing the wheels makes it almost not worth it. I do love the mirror clean shine the chrome ones put off.

Tight fitting SC300 caps on TT wheels
Hey Dougspeed,
Wanted to ask: what part of the cap did you dremel to make it fit? Also what type of dremel tool (model?) and fitting (e.g. grinder with a cylindrical shape) did you use? Did you have to remove excess material/chrome around the entire circumference of the cap or just a portion? Attached is a side by side picture of the Lexus and Supra caps. The flange on the Lexus (left) is thicker and seems to flare out toward the "inside" edge. Is that the "ridge" you referred to?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

so update, i ended up selling the TT wheels because I wanted more 'curb appeal" so I had 19" BBS LM reps on it. I loved them, but they got stollen, so now I have 18" 350Z wheels.
