What's up guys I've been searching throughout the forums between here and lextreme I plan on buying those pistons they sell to do a setup now my question is what are some good performance mods to do to the sc400 I plan to do a turbo setup on the sc400 and a manual swap.
The manual swap pretty much got down just had 1 question about that do I need a different ecu for the r154 or can I use the stock ecu seems like people forget to add that type of info in the swap builds
And is turbo the best way to go my goal is 500 daily I know the car can handle it so any info will be great thanks guys
auto ecu's will work for manual swaps just fine, its not listed because its common swap info on here and is not sc300 or sc400 specific. on a 1uz, you are usually best off supercharging it, as the manifold and exhaust routing/setup for a turbo become complicated very quick and space is an issue to overcome.
It has been done before, but the supercharger is way easier.
500 daily will be very tricky on a 1uz especially with the stock ecu, and a lot of parts will end up being custom.

perfect answer thats what im looking for that really helped man so supercharging it easier so ill look into that then and what about pistons? lextreme good?
also while its on topic what r some supercharges that i can get for the sc400 ?
Twin screw supercharger. Contact Scotturnot or find a post buy him and click on his signature for the complete build process for this. I believe he wasn't very happy with the results he was after. Many, and I mean, Many parts were needed by custom shops and fabrication. He dis an awesome write up and posted a crap ton of pictures. He is a super nice guy and very knowledgeable.

Good luck.
ive seen that it was an awesome build but i have searched like i said haha so twin just isnt in it right now i could possibly swap to a 2j or 1j i see ur signature 555 sleeper how did u do that lol ? mind telling
You don't need new pistons, the pistons on a 1uz are fine, spend that money on proper engine management as the stock ecu is funny above 8 psi or so of boost, which wont get you even close to the ballpark of 500hp, the fuel and timing need to be taken care of for that and alot more boost. If you have to build up the motor and tear into it your project costs will skyrocket just be aware of that.
If you aren't 100% set on having a boosted 1uz, you can break 500hp much easier on a 2jz because all the parts are available and there are many ecu options before having to go standalone.
