Question Basic MUST HAVE tools for working on Sc400? (garage or trunk)

Hi,
I have very few tools for a car and my Sc has inspired me to start acquiring some. I have always taken my car to mechanics but i have been inspired by DIY here. I have no garage so this will be the most BASIC tools that I keep in my trunk just for this car.

I remember my mechanic saying a few sockets will get me really far on this car. What sizes would those be?
What else should I get to enter the FIRST phases of DIY?

I am thinking specific wrench/socket sizes as opposed to full sets to keep weight / theft risk / cost low for now. I could afford higher quality this way too perhaps.

What do I need to have?

The sockets you will need are 8,10,12,14,17,19 and 21mm to take off most bolts on the SC. Just buy a 10-19mm 6 point socket set from craftsman. It'll be cheaper than buying individual sockets. Unless you want to buy Snap on tools, then I would start with only the sizes you need since 1 snap on socket cost as much as a craftsman set.

You'll also need a ratchet with extensions, a set of wrenches, #2 phillips screw driver, a flathead screw driver, a set of metric allen keys, some pliers, a cutting tool, electrical tape, and zipties are always nice to have. Don't forget to keep a flashlight in the car.

I also have a breaker bar and 21mm socket to remove the lug nuts since I don't have the stock lug nut wrench.

This is more for DIY projects then emergencies, I have AAA and Geico. I just want to take on some of the simpler DIY projects and need some basic tools.
I have no garage, so they will live in my trunk likely.

I keep a 50 piece tool set along with electrical tape, a screwdriver set, bar breaker, a wrench set, a jack and a jack stand. Should be more than enough.
