would the 1jz-gte work better with small turbo's or big turbo's ? im trying to gain around 400- mid 500's in horse power

 

A 62 MM T-4 based turbo with an .81 to .96 rear housing (pending fuel type) will easily get you to your goal of 400-500 hp. And still have room to grow.

$3000 DOES NOT EVEN COME CLOSE TO A SINGLE,WG,DP,STANDALONE,FUEL SYSTEM,TUNNING, FMIC,PIPPING ...!!!!!!!!!!

 

I budgted 7K for mine. Didnt even touch it. You have to remember all the fittings, FPR, injectors, return lines, fuel pump, standalone or ptiggyback, wiring, tune, and so one. It adds but rather quickly. I told you to check the classifieds for 94_Soarer complete 1JZ swap. 3K will not even touch the swap if done correclty.

with a budget of 3K, you can get the regular maintenance almost finished on your stock SC and have it in great running condition, and riding very comfortably.

Im telling you, get the car to where its dependable and comfortable now in stock form, and start buying items and just set them aside till you have everything you need. Those hidden cost items I mentioned, add up quick, cause I only touched the essentials in our previous message.

swaps dont happen overnight, so no need to rush. Good builds done right will take time, and for those of us on a budget, they take even longer.

 

I second this info. My SC was down almost one year from the day I pulled the motor out. Rome wasnt built in a day. Let me guess, you have about 3K from an income tax return????

 

Go fast parts and cars dont come cheap. You could probably have a bone to stock 1JZ swap for around 3k, but 400-500 horses in 3k? wont happen man.
