Thumbs up Just ordered some PBM...what else should I do while in there?

Not sure if this belongs strictly in suspension or general forum. Mods can move at leisure.

Hey everyone! Back in the SC game after touching up that Land Rover I showed a few months back. DAMN do those things leak. Anyways.....

I just ordered some PBM competition coilovers now I was curious...my car being a 1997 (16 years old) what else should I consider replacing/upgrading while in there? I was thinking stainless brake lines, LS400 calipers, and bushings of sorts, but I am not sure which bushings specifically. There is no real rush on my coilover install, so if this "list" builds up to more than bushings, It is fine because I can just save up and do it all at once. So ya, thats my question. Thanks guys!

Glad to be back. Really missed this forum!

Best,
Ashtray

You could paint your calibers red because it adds 30hp

This, pretty much it, unless you want to change all those bushings.

Like everyone else said...relocate your harness.

I would definitely consider changing out your bushings. Steering rack and sway bar bushings are the easiest to change, so I would start with those. The control arm bushings will be the greatest improvement to how the car handles, but they are a lot more labor intensive to change. You could get all battle version arms which will give you new ball joints and bushings at the same time (except front and rear lca).

Very good very good thank you. You lost me at battle version arms. I'll google, but if you could also elaborate that'd be appreciated. I figure I'm not basing this off how labor intensive it will all be, but more or so what will yield the greatest difference in improvement from what I currently am at...which is completely stock. Having said that I'm sure anything at all will be an improvement.

edit: Found the battle version arms. Had forgotten. And the saving begins haha Me Gusta

Anyone else have anymore input on anything at all? Open to all opinions...except the "paint on hp"...I cant justify to myself such easy gains

Add a Lexus sticker to that and you got 40

Those pbms look awesome, but you want to install them to feel the real performance and enjoy them.

Do your sway bar bushings and inspect your swaybar end links, and depending on how low you go, you may have to make some custom shorter ones
And of course inspect your ca bushings they fail

Make sure the MAX logo faces outward when you install them.

Wow, those look great. I'm told they go real low too. Make sure to relocate the harness.

All good info thank you! Right now I'm shopping for the ca bushings...just not sure which to get And I doubt I'll go low enough to have to make shorter endlinks. I probably will have to roll my fenders or tuck in my wheels if thats even possible, I like the "sunk" look more than the poke or even flush. Just my opinion though What are your recommendations for the sway/ca bushings?

That is most likely going to be this weekend so it is done and out of the way by the time install comes around...granted it will be a while away, but ya...always fun to poke at cars
