Default sc300/400 power potential

Hey guys. I'm looking to buy an SC soon. I'm trying to decide between a 5-speed sc300 or auto-sc400. NOT including turbo, nitrous or stroker kits, what is power potential of each using bolt on parts (exhaust, intake, chip, etc.) TIA.

Welcome to Club Lexus and good choice on a car..

Your questions have been discussed many times and the answers can be very broad.

Maybe some fellow members can point you to some direct links, but a good place to start is to use the 'Search' button (maybe specifiy only to search in SC forums) and start digging.

There's TONS of information here for Lexus enthusiasts!

Good luck-

400HP NA wouldn't be a prob, can make a lot of HP NA but depends how much money you want to spend. you can get new pistons for higher compression ratio, hotter cams, new intake and exhaust manifolds and diff engine computer ( programmable to change the maps ).

Toyota Off road race engines make 800HP NA from the 5L(5.5 cant remember) V8.

Not much HP with basic bolt on mods...I have a K&N intake..it doesn't do much..just makes a little more noise and it looks nice...Intake and exhuast will give you 5-10 hp if lucky...bolt on will not make much of a difference...

Bolt on a 2JZ-GTE motor. It will do the trick.

Now look what you guys have done. All because you wanted me to search, now I need a turbo. Quick question, why would anyone pay toyomoto $7500 plus $$$ to install a turbo kit when you can pay Power House Racing $10,000 for a complete 2jz-gte engine swap? Anyway, now I'm looking to buy a COMPLETED turbo SC beginning of next year. Any leads?

Cool lexury for performance?

How about a supra instead of SC300? It is a street killer machine.

If a swap only costs $10k if I were to do it over I would go with that. Remember that in cars things always add up to much more than you originally think. Once the 2JZ-GTE is in you will want to do the BPU upgrades. Then there are the LSD, suspension upgrades, etc.

There is more than one BPU upgrade. BPU+,BPU++,BPU+++,etc. Front mount intercooler is optional. I believe they state on their page that it is 450HP and not necessarily at the wheels.
