Unhappy

I'M BENT ON DOING MORE OF MY MAINTENANCE MYSELF. OF COURSE TO SAVE MORE $$$, BUT I LIKE TO WORK ON MY CARS AS I'M SURE THE REST OF YOU DO.

I WAS ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE MY FUEL FILTER, I KNOW SOME GAS WILL RUN OUT... ON MY 300ZX THAT I OWNED A LITTLE GAS RAN OUT BUT ON MY SC4 THE GAS KEEP COMING AND COMING AND COMING.... AT LEAST A A GALLON WAS RUNNING OUT THE LINE BEFORE I EVEN GOT A CHANCE TO TAKE THE FILTER OFF COMPLETELY...
SO OF COURSE I STOP TRYING TO TAKE IT OFF..(I used jack stands, disconnected the battery...)

WHAT WAS I DOING WRONG???
WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE???
IS THIS NORMAL FOR THAT MUCH GAS TO COME OUT???

HELP!!!

THE IKON

Default Its A Bitch!

I know what you mean!

It sucks. The best thing to do is to pull the fuel pump fuse and run the car dry. Then start to change it.

I changed mine with out doing this and I had the same problem. Once it starts, it causes a suction and it will just keep on coming out. I bet I spilt about 2 gallons. My hands were burning b/c so much gas had spilt on them.

Try pulling the fuse and it should be much better! Just dont smoke0!!

Good Luck,
Scott
