I will be eager to see the update. Good luck with finishing your roommates car and moving plans with your girl.
I won't thread jack but I did find some answers to my question above that I will try out. In case someone is reading your thread and has the same issues of a key needing to be very close to the car to lock/unlock, check O.L.T.'s thread found on page two of the following tutorial:

Wow your key FOB still works? For all it is worth I think it is still easier to install an after market basic keyless entry system. I installed a Bulldog keyless system in my SC using the OEM lock/unlock wires to the stock alarm module. It works great and the stock alarm works the same. I can lock/unlock my car from 50 feet away.I even added 2 SPDT relays and have light flash and trunk pop too. I used the model # KE1702, paid $40.00 for it on eBay and $10.00 for 2 relays.

Still, it would involve a remote fob separate from the ignition key. I love the integrated OEM design, personally and that's why I started this thread.
My apologies to everyone on the lack of updates. Life takes some interesting turns is all I can say. I'll have some time soon to pick up where I left off.

That after locking my car I peer into the window with my hands cupped trying to see if my security light started flashing.
I do this daily......
My girl says I look like I'm casing my own car on NYC streets.
My question for her: Was that one beep or two?

i already did this on my 94 sc300 and made a thread.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FM2HBxgYdtU
Where is your thread on this? If you already covered the process then mine isn't necessary.
Edit: I looked up your created threads and I only found this one about the same issue. Did you create another one with your solution? I only looked for keywords...

And this one? https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...me-please.html

I found this interesting thread just now which contains the wiring diagrams for 1992 SC300/400 door lock control and wireless.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lex...l-diagram.html
Should be at least three PDFs in there.
Still, from what I could gather from one of Cleanshots' threads, the signal we're looking for is probably under the dash passenger side where (I think this is correct?) the door lock ECU is located. One of the wires that runs back to the wireless module in the back of the car needs to be tapped at that point for a buzzer relay. Buzzer should probably be put under the hood or passenger fender as that is supposed to be the factory location for 95+ supposedly.
I'm wondering now if the door lock ECU for pre-95's have a dead connector location which would have been for a piezo beeper.
I'm in the process of packing to move now so unfortunately I can't test any of this theory at the moment.

Further, from this link:
http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums...Bbeep%26gt%3B/
The last post in the thread by K9 Crew reads as follows:
"I've looked at the anti-theft wiring for a '95 SC400 and a '94 SC400. Here are parts of the wiring schematics for both cars showing the Wireless Door Lock ECU which is separate from the anti-theft ECU. On my car a "Wireless Door Lock Buzzer" is shown with a red/white (+) signal being sent to it from the ECU (pin# 1). The '94 doesn't have the buzzer and the ECU is wired differently although it also has 12 pins. The good news is that'd be easy to tap the red/white wire and connect it to the parking light relay(s) to make the lights flash when locking/unlocking."
So that tells me you can't use 1995+ wiring as a reference but here this fellow seems to have nailed it. I suppose testing that wire with a voltmeter as the wireless remote were activated would be all that's required to make sure it's the correct trigger.
Running the splice wire under the dash is best done by crossing the transmission tunnel and going under the driver's side behind the fuse box. There is a particular port there that is pretty far back with clear access to the engine bay via the fender well. That, or there may be something similar on the passenger side since 95's did this.

Another much better relay module that I just found, as listed in this write up on a BMW E46 forum:
http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=687303
This relay module allows for different beeps and also controls parking light flashes to match. A little more involved than what I was planning but I really think this fits the bill to give us the function we desire. We now have a wiring diagram, so this shouldn't be too difficult.

Okay, this just blew my mind... has anyone tried this kit from Mikado Technology? Apparently you can use it in conjunction with your OEM keyless entry and... IT BEEPS!
I'm very interested for that reason alone but it doesn't directly make the Lexus remote keys beep on 92-94's.
Still...
Edit: Found an older thread on it for LS400's here. It's apparently not reliable because it has zero moisture sealing from the designer. Something fixable but absolutely necessary -- https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...yless-kit.html
And the sales page here: http://www.sammywu.com
