Default another ebay problem

Well, just like the subject says....another ebay problem. As most of you probably know, I sold all of my stock audio system on ebay since I upgraded and replaced everything. The problem happens when I sent out my stock amp to the winning bidder. Well, now the person says they did not get it (shipped out the 18th). I have a receipt and two people at Mailboxes ETC who remember the transaction to back me up on it. Unfortunately, the winning bidder filed a paypal complaint saying "no receipt of merchandise". Paypal automatically take back the $180 until the conflict is resolved. Here's the prob.... the only way for me to prove that I sent it (according to paypal) is to supply a tracking number. This is BS since the bidder did not pay for insurance and I shipped USPS parcel post because of this. Parcel post does not give a tracking number. So despite the witnesses and receipt I have (and one less amp), I will be losing $180.
On top of this, right about the time the bidder should have gotten my amp, they put the same amp up for auction (same pic and serial #). They ended the auction early (only got up to about $90 I think- kind of fishy). The reason for putting the amp up in the first place is " they changed their mind on how they wanted to upgrade their audio system". Yeah friggin right.
If I had to guess, they have my amp, and upon learning there was no tracking number, they took advantage of the situation and filed a false claim in order to get their money back.
Once again, the honest guy who fulfills his end of the bargain gets screwed.

Oh, one more thing, I am a +14 rating, they are a 0.

Anyway, moral of the story....a couple idiots ruin a good thing for everyone. Also, watch out for ebayer "chunjai88", lizette tran, or johnston yau from San Fran, CA.

Ahhh.... this has been so frustrating... sorry guys I had to vent:>

jeez, i feel your pain man.

i got screwed a couple of times on ebay for the same reason. only after i found out that i had to have a tracking number that i started to charge everyone for the delivery confirmation... regardless if they want it or not.

have you tried calling paypal direct? did you print out the auction page that they were trying to sell the EXACT same amp? if you did, fax it over to paypal...

Yes, I called them and they were very firm that only a tracking number would work. They wouldnt accept my receipt cpmbined with two letters from employees who remember the transaction at Mailboxes, ETC.

Well unfortunately, you're pretty much a$$ed out. Next time add on delivery confirmation, it's only like 40 cents or so.

You can fight it, but I think you are gonna just have to chalk it up to experience...at least it's only 180 bucks or so, it could have been a lot worse.

This is why paypal sucks. And they charge transaction fees on top of that!

kick his $ss, plain and simple. I had a jack$ss buy a set of Work wheels off of me when I was getting rid of some RX-7 stuff. SOB tried to stiff me on $2,100 and I finally called the cops and things got straight.

Well, if it was ebay you can demand prepayment with check or money order, and you are in no way liable to ship until the funds are clear. This is what you should have done.

180 sucks yeah, but at least it wasn't like 1800...

Lesson learned, just be careful next time there's lots of scammers out there!

Never ship anything out without a confirmation number.. It is cheap and worth it. If you still have the auction number of the amp they tried to resell, I advise you to bring it to Paypal's attention.

Good Luck

Default Lizette Tran again?

I have sold hundreds of items on eBay, and I have accounts with Paypal and a UPS online account. UPS comes in handy since the tracking is automatic with each shipment, as is insurance of up to $100. Plus, it is usually cheaper than USPS, as long as the distances are not too great (USPS is cheaper cross-country). And no long lines at the post office!

What's weird is that Liz Tran emailed me 2 months ago about buying my fiberglass woofer box for her SC300 (we couldn't agree on terms).

Man that sucks big time, dam people on ebay... you go out of your way to help them out and in return they f*ck you up the ***. I think anything shipped should be tracked, of a noticable amount.

Hey DoubleWhoosh I have a question for you, if I as a buyer send you money as a money order, what stops you from not shipping the item? Does ebay have a buyer protection? I trust the guy ... but you have to worry when sending someone you don't know hundreds of dollars.

Well in theory the ebay feedbacks should be an indication of a credible seller to send money to. Ebay supposedly has some protection, but it's all BS for the most part. Of course they could have fake feedbacks, but you can usually get a pretty good idea by going on feedback alone, especially if the person is in the hundreds or even thousands.

Angry DON"T GET MAD - GET EVEN!!!

Sorry to hear about your distrusted Ebay experience. There is always an ******* to take advantage of a good situation and ruin it for everyone else.
That’s is why it’s smart to always send your packages, using some sort of a tracking system or a signature request.
This way it protects you from *******s trying to rip you off. Every time I sell an item I get idiots asking why I am charging so much for shipping, even on small items. And I tell them, “It’s because I am adding a tracking / signature request service for my own protection and yours, if you have a problem with that, then don’t bid on the item.” It’s that simple!
And also I state in my description that a winning bidder with ‘0’ feedback is to be verified and escrow services rendered.
By just sending it USPS does not protect you.
tggoodrich, You may still have a chance to beat this *******. Since you have witnesses at Mailbox Etc. and the fact that it's evident that the item you sold just happened to be resold by the same bidder who won the exact same item from you. It’s all timely documented, but you need to act fast and file a fraudulent claim against him with the Auction site.
Good luck!

SoRRy to hear aLL that but you must cover your own buTT. I Ebay aLL the time and people try to scam me. But what i do is if you have less than 5 fEEdback you must email me before bidding and let me know how you plan to pay. If via paypal then i wiLL only ship to the confirmed aDDreSS. If you are not goNNa be shiPPing to the confirmed aDDreSS then i wiLL not aCCept paypal. ust do money order. As far as shiPPing i only deal with UPS. They are gOOd and cheap and you can track everything. KEEps you safe and kEEps a buck in you pocket.
