Default transmission code

Hello, i was checking my cel codes.for my 94 sc400 , and my over drive light has been flashing for abit now. Problem is i am getting a cel code 38 that i cannot locate for this car. I know it does the flash three times then slight pause, then it will flash 8 times. Just hoping its not causing my transmission making this whistle noise since i brought it from private seller or it may be a faulty code. Replys would be appreciative before i start throwing things at this car

that's weird I can't find a code 38 or 83 anywhere. I looked at the engine codes, trans codes, trac codes, abs codes, and srs codes

did the ecu have the same part #? what is the part # of the new ecu?

the supra tsrm has a code 38 for the trans it's the at fluid temp sensor code.

that new ecu could be wired for a temp sensor, that your trans may not have

The oem ecu that i have is 89661-24431 with big 3A alittle right of that. Hopefully i did not get the wrong ecu that i have been using for over 4 months now on this car. Just seeing if anyone still has any input before i send my original in to get repaired.
