Question Leather seating replacement advice wanted

I just found this forum and I read about the replacement leather seat covers available at http://www.leatherseats.com. I want to replace my cream colored leather in my 93 SC3000. Have any of you replaced that color with one from leatherseats? Which color did you choose?

Also, when I spoke to leatherseats.com they recommended that I replace the rear seat so that it matches the front seats. If that is true, then how do the replacement seats look next the to the original side panels?

SMARK,

There are 5 threads about this very SAME question. You are not the first or last to have such concerns. We did a group buy on those exact leather kits 2 weeks ago that went great. Do a search for those threads if you need more info than this but here goes.

1) Replace all the seats. Color matches but grain won't.
2) They are great quality.
3) Factory Ivory color = Sandstone
4) Side panels match fine because grain is not a factor.
5) You can install them yourself if you have time and are mechanically inclined. Install kit from Leatherseats.com is $35
6) Do a search and ask questions if they are not in these threads.

And here is a pic of what mine looked like when completed.

I 've been reading the various threads, but I didn't see the one about the color match. Thanks for the links and for posting the pic!

I noticed you added some wood "dash kits." Which brand did you buy? Were you happy with them?

I found that thread. I didn't relaize you had posted about your trim kit. Thanks for your (frank) advice and for sharing your pics. I think I'm going to do the leather replacement. I'm considering the two-tone, but not sure.

SMARK,

no problem.

You may want to wait a few weeks to buy your leather kit. I would suggest waiting till just before/after x-mas and then asking "LS400" (group buy moderator) to do another group buy. People will have money after x-mas or may buy the kit for a x-mas gift to themselves. You only need a few people to do it and you can save a ton of cash. Two tone would be nice, but nobody can find a combination that looks right in the SC Tan interior schema. I thought about the darker brown but it looks odd because the factory lower plastic is light colored. Kinda like a candycane effect when you think about it.

We all have had good interaction with Eric and Leatherseats.com and the end product has been excellent.

Hmmm....I'll have to consider the savings by participating in the group buy. I was considering doing the job between Xmas and New Years while my office is closed. Thanks.

I was thinking about doing darker center inserts like those shown here

but substitute the color of the parking brake handle boot for the inserts - if there was close match for it.
