Unhappy CF Dash...(but alas RHD)

It seems I only want things that we cannot get...in this case a LHD CF dash *sigh*. Sexy as hell and well worth $430, but RHD and you get raped on shipping. At least I can sit & drool...

Looks like 100% real CF to me. Or it's the most realistic overlay I've ever seen. Either way, it's cool as hell.

The piece itself is only $437, however shipping will cost you $500-$950 & whenever you get "please ask" for a lead time it's going to take a while.

Might as well just use a vinyl overlay on a street car. It's useless as a cover and not a complete replacement dash and its useless on a street car as its not going to make any difference in weight unless its a strict spec race car and even then I've never seen a race car with a full dash so...... It's completely pointless.

Just use a heat formed vinyl overlay and clear coat it for the shine and you've whipped out the same look for $100. The first person that says it isn't real cf ask them how much awesome performance they are expecting you to get out of your $900 dash on your 20 year old Lexus.

Yeah, I didnt mean for me to say thats its not real CF. Just it looks like a CF overlay, aka the sort of stuff they do to door trims.

Ultimately, if someone wanted to try it themselves you can probably do it and save yourself some money and gain knowledge.

If I can find a cf vinyl that looks realistic enough I will go ahead an do a vacuum/heat formed overlay as a stop-gap measure while getting the results I want for the whole dash using...

this method - (as I'm sure that it is going to take me a couple of attempts to get it just right)
Thanks guys! (I can already see this becoming a complete interior project... MMMmmmm carbon fiber headliner)

OLT, that's just priceless.

I do love seeing a new part for our cars, but really? This is awesome and everything, but ~$900 for a dash cover? I'm really not seeing it.

Never mind... I thought it was a replacement dash, not just a cover.
