Default Changer problems

Ali Hamed,

I would not recommend trying to service this changer yourself. Laser adjustments are very exact and require scope alignment. Your changer is a Panasonic unit and is most likely a CX-CS5110/5111 or 5210. We stock Exchange units here and suggest that you do that verses adjusting it.

Keep in mind that is, if a laser requires adjustment it usually means the laser is on its way out. Just like a light bulb the laser has a life expectancy of so many hours and that time frame can be shorter or longer than quoted by the manufacturer. Lasers usually die slowly so that is my suggestion for you, exchange it and forget about opening it up.

One other word to all, if you or a unauthorized person attempts to work on a stereo or changer and give up and send it in for repair you may find yourself getting the unit sent back to you as unrepairable due to tampering. So watch out for springs and clips that can disappear before your eyes.
