Question SC400 Neurosurgery - wiring harness repairs

I had started a previous thread because my SC wouldn't start - determined I had a short in the wiring harness - pulled out the main harness from the ECU/engine and found lots of heat singed wiring - I have been working on it now for a few days and ran into a problem - pic #1

Problem: the FI plugs are breaking apart as I remove the pins to solder on new wires - pic #2 - not even the Lexus dealer knows if I can just get new plugs w/inserts - of course, none of the typical parts stores have any listings - anyone know where I might can get some new ones? - I'm headed to a couple of salvage yards tomorrow to see what I can find - there are a few more plugs that need replacing too, so I may be able to find used replacements

Last question - I have found this jumper (pic3) in the common circuit of the right side set of injectors - there isn't one like this on the left side - I thought it might be a connection for a noid light, but i can measure about 7ohms of resistance across the jumper itself (??) - is this device needed for normal operation? - does anyone know?

Any help is appreciated - TIA

PS - what?! no beer smiley??!!

Well, I found some good FI plugs on a couple of 4 banger Toyotas and have them wired into the harness
Studying the schematic to find out about the jumper - havent found anything yet, but still searching

If you need new injector clips they can be purchased on eBay just look for Denso style injector clips

Had to replace the entire connector(s) for the FIs - ive got all the needed wiring repairs complete now -- i went through an entire 35' roll of new 16awg and 5' of 10awg green wire replacing the grounds alone - been splicing/soldering for 2 weeks now -- im starting to feel better about the motor actually starting now -- the wires were in such bad shape from the engine heat

If you decide to give up, I believe OLT has a full uncut harness. I maybe mistaken, but I have seen a picture of one on here in his attic in a different thread of his.

Nope - wont be giving up at this point - too much time invested - im actually fitting the harness back onto the engine at this point - all the FI plugs are replacements now but all have working lock clips

I figured out the jumper has no relevant use in the harness so i left it out

Ok, so I got the starter to turn the engine - YAHOO!!
The work I put in on the harness has paid off
Now I have to get it to fire
My sons friend discovered a cut wire - unfortunately it appears to be the lead to the d/s cam sensor
Would that stop both coils from firing?

My time paid off - IT LIVES!!!
I had bad wires on the cam position sensors
I also had the sensor harness connector (up by the FI plugs) plugged in backwards!
The outside of that 6pin connector was broke off
Another case of heat singed plastic

I'm glad you found the problem. Harness repair is not for the faint of heart. I found this place that can repair harnesses or supply us with pigtails and new connectors. I thought I was going to need my HVAC harness repaired. I hope this helps someone out there with harness problems:
