Default Might have finally found one...

Went and looked at one today... 1992 SC300 113,xxx miles.
here is what I have gathered:
*Gonna need a power steering pump (nice whine from it)
*Possible A/C Overhaul, blows cold, but could be way colder. Could just need a recharge?
*Drivers side A/C vent in the middle is broken
*Needs balance and alignment big time
*Unknown Timing belt service
*Possible tune-up. Put the pedal down and took a while to kick down.
*Something done with the seats. (Not needed, but would look better)

I think this might be the one. I like the car color, Sort of like the wheels, and seems like everything is in good condition, other than a load of armor all over the entire inside...
Here are some pics:

NEW TIRES AND NO OIL LEAKS!
Let me know what you guys think. He is asking $3995. I really don't think it's worth that. I don't care about the low miles. I am thinking about the PS Pump, A/C, and cleaning up the inside. Give me your opinions, Thanks!

Not bad. Price is too high for the condition and year though.

Looks clean, the alignment and the power steering pump may cost you some $$. Unless you can find a steering pump off a used SC never know.

In my head when ever I see a 1992 SC (It better be CLEAN or it better be a 5-SPEED). If its neither then you should keep looking for a newer SC (preferably a 1998+ for the VVTi engine, gated shifter, and new body kit).

When I picked up my 92 5 speed first thing I did was replace my p/s pump its an easy task. Plenty of DIY on this forum. Also that seems a bit pricey. I say keep searching and find a 5 speed

It's a tough call...what's your plans for it? Are you able to do the work yourself? If so, it may be worth buying-I would definitely try and get it a little cheaper. The money you save in the deal, you could put back towards the car. If you do pick this up, I would focus on basic maintenance first-either way, wish you the best of luck with your potential project!

How many miles and what condition...

I can do pretty much all of it myself with the exception of the timing belt job. Have a good mechanic that will do it for a reasonable price. My plans are to have it as a second car, sort of a weekend driver/ road car. Then after a while, after everything is up to my standards (which are high), I will sell it off.

Sounds good...I'd say go for it! Bringing SEXY back! There's nothing wrong with a weekend driver/road car-it looks like you have a good platform to work with, only 120k-that's nothing for our cars! Either way, keep us updated.

I talked to the guy and apparently he is selling it for his girlfriend. She is being a big pain in the butt. Won't go below $3,500. I honestly can't see myself paying that for a 21 year old car that needs some work. I offered him $3000, so we will see if I get a call back to go get it.

Good call, you made a reasonable offer considering the condition/repairs it will cost you to fix the Sc. Be patient, I'm sure you'll get a call with a counter offer.
