Back on topic. I am considering buying the gte head with cams, intake manifold and the sensors for a decent price..just still researching seeing how smart that is lol.
Not sure what you could gain from buying a gte head, If it was complete with turbos and harness i can see putting it on your bottom end. But IMO there isnt alot to be gained by buying a gte head, your still gonna have to modify your harness as well

sounds like your just not ready financially and ur going to have to accept that.

selling your current car to buy an engine and then buy a shell to drop it in later? doesnt sound very well thought out or ratonal at all.

The only way I've kept this car alive is by owning a side business. I would have sold this piece of junk a long time ago if it wasn't for the extra cash. Are you capable of working on the weekends?

If your weekends are free, start a business that has anything to do with weddings...DJ'ing, catering, limo driver, etc. You can make a lot of money. My wedding is in two+ weeks and the cost for everything is rediculous.

Best of luck with whatever decision you make.

Hmm, ok. Cause I knew I would have to modify the harness. But was thinking port and polish, new rods lifters maybe cams with thicker headgasket. End up with bigger injectors once I turbo. But if its not gonna be a big difference then oh wells :/.

Im going to look more into the NA-T setup once I have looked into my motor more. I would at least feel more comfortable with arp studs and a metal head gasket to back it up. I can get a full mild GTE head for less than a grand and just go from there.

I do appreciate everyones input. I guess it doesnt really make much sense to sell my car to buy a shell and do it all over again. I have support when it comes to the build. I work for Turbo dave down here in GA, he is a great tuner.

I don't really see the point of selling this car, buy a motor and then look for a shell just to have a turbo SC. You'd most likely won't find a clean shell like yours and if you do it's going to cost an arm and a leg by then your plan of saving $$ is totally backfired. I'd say save up and just build off this chassis; you'd be happy because it's from the same car you've loved.

Also, it will help if you have a DD. Having a project that's also a DD is a nightmare, happened to me with my Supra, it was down for almost a year. On top of that, if you're not financial stable to heavily mod your car, i'd consider this whole NA-T ( swap or kit) is extensive and won't be cheap then stay away from it.

With that being said, it's your car, your $$ and your time you can do as you wish, we're here to give our opinions and advice. That's my .02 good luck!

Are you chris? Did you used to own a green rolla and first gen gs300? Anyways i say sell it and fine a sc300 shell. I got my car for $700 and you can too! They're tons of people selling sc300's for under a grand you just gotta wait and find the right people.

Sure you run into "problems" with the ones for cheap you do pay what you get but if your planning on building this as a track car then it doesnt matter at the moment. My car has insane high mileage and huge body damage but its not on the frame and no major rust. Suspension and 5 spd and minor engine upgrades is whats key for me.

Anyways sry for too long of a reply. I was in the same boat but lmk if your willing to travel to VA. I found a $500 red sc that needs a new harmonic balance (ie engines prolly gone) def within your budget and you can build it up!

I am doing a small budget turbo build.... but i got lucky getting parts for cheap.. but I have been patient... so far I got a tt gasket ,gte pistons, a garret gt35,apexi afc, a big intercooler... I am missing intercoller pipes and turbo oil lines. Belive me it has been a long time to gather up such parts...

I am willing to sell some for cheap, because I am planning to go 1jz maybe next year
