Default So it's OVER...NEED ADVICE!!!

So guys, as you guys may know i'm a new guy here on the forums but...don't know where I stand now. Called around for insurance for my 93 sc400 they want a *****load. Gunna call around some more tommarow. The company my dad is with (Allstate) is asking for 6K a year to insure it :S I'm 20 years old have been insured since i was 16/17 have had no accidents or claims or any tickets...whats the best advice guys?

I may have to bite the bullet and trade, yes trade not sell the car. Everyone is asking less for their car and for what i bought it for and fixed her for couldn't see myself going less (BOTTOM DOLLAR) than $2000. I'm in Toronto Ontario and insurance is a crazy ting down here...

I was offered a straight trade (i'd be losing) for a 1986 5spd VW Cabriolet, restored! jet white not a spec of rust, all maintainence done to car his car has 230k

My car has 296k has the TRAC and TRAC OFF light on, yes both lights are on, aside from that has a dent (from previous owner) but thats it.

Advice is greatly needed and would be appreciated my fellow club lexus members! sucks to see this happen i'll probably be calling the VW guy to come take a look at the car today unless i wait till tommarow to find more insurance quotes!

without trying to be rude you should know by now insurance under your own name at your age is way too high , I mean what did you expect?

Your father or mother have to put the car in their name , that is your only option.

+1 for progressive, im paying about $600 a year (comprehensive), but idk the rules may apply differently seeing as you're in canada. Best bet is to get on your dad's insurance and try to go cheap or trade it...

FACTS:
1. Ontario has ridiculously high insurance rates.
2. Allstate has to be the most expensive insurance company in Ontario.

REMEDY: Call another insurance agent. Something tells me that you'd have better luck with State Farm...

i use geico and im paying 90 a month. Im 21 years old. not sure why your insurance is so high. Are you trying to get full coverage? i have liability with a low ded and PIP. i can understand why you would want full coverage but unless you dumped a ton of money into your ride, its not really worth it. I would suggest for you to get the lowest insurance you can get, have the liability incase you hit someone, and PIP. Otherwise if its someone elses fault they will cover your damage. however, if its your fault........well your SOL.

Put the car in ur dads name and pay his rate... Since the car isnt in ur name and assuming u dont have any other cars in ur name u could obtained whats. Called a " named no owner" policy. Ur dads would be primary and the NNO is secondary should the primary coverages be exhausted. Should cut ur cost in more than half...

damn rogers im not sure why your paying so much ,,,even your quote for the honda civic is very high.

Where abouts in T.O are you? and I think you should shop around for a new company , these quotes must be for full coverage, I only have liability it helps keep the cost down alot.
