Default Trunk struts Suddenly went out?

Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone has had this same issue. The weak trunk strut issues are pretty well documented with our cars and mine were shot when I purchased the car. I replaced them later last summer - they were pretty mega powerful, able to shoot the trunk lid up with some pretty significant force.

All of a sudden though, they don't work again! Has this happened to anyone else? It was like one day it didn't want to open.

I have the exact same situation! How could they fail all of a sudden?

They just get old i guess, mine were dead when i bought the car. Rock Auto has a good set to change them out and they're not expensive either.

Especially both of them! I remember when I replaced even one of them they wanted to shoot my trunk off its hinges.

It's just like what happens to window regulators.
One side goes out, the other usually goes out less than 2 months later.

Very common on our trunks. I had to buy a pair for my 97 last summer. They are like $25 shipped on Amizon.com

The trunk is useless anyway.... You can barely even stuff a body back there
