Oddest check engine light issue ever.......

Default Oddest check engine light issue ever.......
Start car, bright light... wait and it FADES out?!?! Then never comes back bright when driving just comes back very dim. Variable brightness as you are driving. REALLY weird.

no led's anywhere except where they should be. It's an old school "16" white and red waterfalls, but no led's anywhere else.

I think a sensor is kind if going bad and kind of triggering it, but kind of not going bad and making it vary it's brightness as I drive randomly.

Your probably right, i searched google to ee if other cars get it and i seems to be a issue with ford focuses dash clusters.

Does the car always run fine? I think another guy on here had some CEL strangeness and it ended up being failed ECU caps.

Can't because it comes and goes. That's what is weird about it. It acts like it isn't sure it wants to even throw the code.

Cluster indicator lights do not go through the main board, that is for backlight, needles, and the time/odo. Indicator and warning lights simply "pass through" the cluster, they are controlled by the sensor they are connected to.
