Anybody running one? Seems like it would be just right?

Either way, if you replace it, you need to modify the mounting. 'Cause the mounting is assembled with the sub itself.

You dont have to go that shalow on the sub, it can be a normal sub as long as it doesnt have a huge magnet.
If you measure the distance between the mounting surface and the gas tank, that shoud give you a better sub choises. I cant remembe off the top of my head the clearance of my jl10w1v2-4, but it fits perfect there and I really love the way it beats

Are you running that free air in the deck (no box)?
Are you running it off the factory toyota amp?
How does it sound compared to stock?
Did you just drop it through the hole in the deck or use the old speaker as a mounting point?

Thx

What i was looking at was Alpine's Type R Marine 10". Free air design and you can find them for super cheap. Someone buy one and let me know how it sounds so i can buy it =P. (i hate being the guinea pig)

u dnt need a free air sup to replace the factory one. the space is so small its almost like a big box. to me it sounds good. i installed a 8" kicker and it sounds clean. the back window feels like its going to fly out.

I just replaced the stock sub with a Pioneer, free air 10". It took some weather sealing and long screws, but it works great. I prolly could have gotten away with a deeper sub, magnet size. Sounds decent with also the addition of the 6x9's..

I am not looking for a competition sound system but rather a well rounded system with no factory amps etc etc so it looks as if this will fit the bill!

Quick question for everyone who has replaced theit factory sub and installed 6.5's in the rear deck:
How did you mount them or mod the hole?

Anyone have a pic?

IIRC it's 8" with base Lexus stereo system, 10" with Nakamichi option
