Default clutch pedal question for the pros

I just got installing my oem sc300 clutch pedal in my 1993 sc300. After fighting with the spring to get it compressed and getting it completely assembled. i noticed that if you barley touch the pedal the spring makes it shoot down towards the floor. theres no fluid in the master cylinder. Is this normal? on most vehicals i see the spring makes the clutch pedal go outward not inward. i researched and couldnt find an answer. i also have all the bushings in and everything and it squeaks like hell. ive also noticed when i got the pedal depressed my foot hits the foot rest is all of this normal?

The pedal will go to the floor without fluid in the MC, how many mounting bolts are you using for the pedal assembly there is 3 of them 2 coming through the firewall and on 1 going up to a point straight up if I remember its a 12mm??? LMK

I'm also woundering if I bent the bracket a little trying to get that spring to compress. The peddle seems even with the brake.

Did you adjust the pedal up with the threaded rod and the 12 or 14 mm bolt? to control height and activation point.

If the clutch MC isn't hooked up to the slave cylinder with hydraulic fluid, then it will react just as you describe. That's because there's no pressure being applied by the diaphragm of the pressure plate when the clutch pedal is depressed. Basically, the diaphragm is a glorified spring that pushes the clutch pedal back into the "up" position.

Yes, it's normal. Once you bleed the clutch and adjust the rod, it will return just fine. Grease the heck your of the assembly or it will squeak like crazy. Mine is squeaking now too, so it's time for some grease.
