Default SC guys...Helmet Reccomendations?

Figured i'd post here seeing as there is more interior experiences here.

Car is now in the 13 sec. range at the track so i needed a helmet. Borrowed a friend's motorcycle helmet and me being 6'5" and Supra seats i had ZERO headroom. I had to move the seat back and slouch down into my seat and was in no way comfortable. Any of you guys have recommendations on helmets that can fit a taller crowd in an SC? Looking into mostly drag strip runs with some autocross later on in life. Helmet needs at least a SNELL 2000 or 2005 rating and full face.

In my experience from riding motorcycles, Arai was most compact compared to Shoei and Scorpion. It is also most expensive of the three. Check out your local motorcycle shop and test out their selection for best fit.

+1 for Arai. Great helmets. And I'm always willing to pay a little extra to protect my head. "Need brain for smart making"

If you've got the money and a good fabricator have your seat lowered.

Check out Suomy extreme .I've been riding for 12+ years and I owned all types of helmets and wouldn't trade it for nothing... no problems with fogging up the visor compared to other brands like showing and arai.. it is a little up there in the. Price range but you cant go wrong . Agv makes some decent helmets for a good price check it out.

open the sunroof slider panel. get shorter seats (supra seats) works for me. as for a helmet, i use a HJC snell approved open face so i can drink water with out looking like that one MX rider drinking a milkshake on failblog.

I have been using Bell helms for a while (usually open face when allowable) and they are a good value for the money.

I had a similar issue with helmet height in my 350Z weekend toy. The Bell worked better than another codrivers Arai in terms of height. (his was closed, mine was open face)

Yea i was looking at some open face helemts, but idk what the requirements are for that so i'll talk with the track officials next time i head out. I did see that Bell had a low profile open face helmet that looks interesting

and to reiterate, i already have MKIV seats in the car and even with the sunroof panel i don't fit right. A GT40 bubble might work...

As a sweeping generalization, ONLY closed face M rated helmets are allowed at most tracks.

I think it's somewhat ***-backwards thinking, personally. A proper SA helmet is a far safer proposition even if it is open face. See what they say. Maybe they see things my way

simpson makes all sorts of car helmets... there not all that expensive since they can be had without all the designs that make them cost more. they are great helmets and are made for car racing. i would start withh them.
