Default Climate control display fogging up

Anybody in here have the same problem? The bottom portion of the display is all blacked out. But when the temperature gets really hot (parking in the sun for a long time) the display will become normal, no more fog. The display isn't as bright though. Could this be the bulb problem that everyone has? I doubt it because I can still see the numbers. It looks the same when you push the display screen and the display starts turning black.

I want to get it fixed but don't want to buy a new display or is that the only fix?

I think I've read here or on other lex sites that if the display gets partially black it's not lighting, the lcd display is toast, must be replaced. Hope I'm wrong for your sake, a new one will prolly be spendy -
