Question Climate Control LCD Illumination Test

What is the best way to bench test the LCD in a used climate control module? (I.e. NOT removing the existing unit and plugging into the harness in the car.) 1993 SC300.

Thanks,
Wade

I never found a bench test and concluded the best way is to plug it into the car.

Since the climate control interacts with the car's ECU and an assortment of sensors, I don't know how else you could do it.

The lcd can be visually inspected. If its dark at all then its bad. All other functions usually either work or dont as long as the unit powers on.
