So on my old rims the inside of my driverside tire was eaten out and the outside of the passanger side tire was eaten out, i bought a new set of rims and i got my car alined and balanced when i put them on and its been less than 1 season and the inside of my driverside is still being eaten out, does anyone know to solve this problem
also when i put a full lock on my steering wheel my wheels drag when i reverse can someone help with that also PLEASE and THANK YOU

 

Just the fronts?

 

Just because you had an alignment done doesn't mean it was right... There is also the possibility they aligned it with loose / worn parts, or they missed them completely...

 

I'm a mechanic and certified state inspector for the state of PA, before any alignment you should always shake down the front end for inner or outer tie rod play or a wheel bearing or ball joints, if any are loose and have play it could cause uneven wear on tires, best bet to check your self is jack up the car put your hands at 9 and 3 oclock on the tire and shake it left and right, shouldn't be any play if there is then its inner or outer tie rod, hands at 12 and 6 and shake it shouldn't be any play and if there is its most likely your wheel bearing, just my 2 cents

 

could be upper and lower ball joints also

 

Control arm bushings are shot. Same thing happened to my SC400. New bushings fix it right up. Also, the same thing is currently happening on the rear of my cousins SC300 and sure enough, bad CA bushings.

 

K thanks for the help i did the shake down thing the first time i saw my tire go bad again ill check the control arm bushing today and its only the front that its happing to

 

Trashed control arm bushings are throwing off your alignment. you need to purchase new ones or even better get urethane ones.

 

steering rack bushings do it also.

 

I like how you all are saying exactly what is wrong with it without knowing for sure... plain and simple - need to shake it down and find out for sure...

also, I'm not sure if polyurethane bushings are better than the stock bushings - it kinda depends on what you are looking for... it could be argued they are worse across the board - they increase stiction which messes with spring/damping rates, they don't allow ~any~ flex at all, which is not necessarily a good thing, and, they make the ride very rough (due to the above mentioned stiction)...

 

Best bet is to get the car jacked up then check for loose or worn parts...don't go out buying parts and then it ends up not being the problem...then you'd waste money. On the other hand if it was me I'd put everything brand new (bushings & tie rods) that's just me lol
