while i have been away busy with my Job/career and my car ive been researching a few things and i suddenly came up with a crazy idea.
In the last few months i have been researching the 1GZFE. For those of you that do not know what this motor is I will clarify.
1GZFE= the 4996cc (5.0L) V12 gas engine that is found in the Toyota Century Limo. stock limited power was 280 (tho we all know it made more) and 356lb-ft.
Anyway, as i was saying i started thinking about this motor and how i have never truely seen any vehicle with this swapped in. Then i got thinking "I wonder if i could fit this into an SC300/400?"
Looking at the measurements yes it will fit. Of course being me i then went "I wonder what would happen if i built it, ran 9:1 compression had a good ammount of headwork done and the cams custom reground, Had 2 manifolds made and ran Twin SP63's and one huge intercooler and custom radiator." and a evil grin ran across my face. After having that idea i went on a research spree finding every little detail about this thing as i could. Pistons were the first factor....if i gonna build the motor i need parts. Well knowing that the 1gzfe runs an 81.0mm bore i refferenced it and came across the 4ag which also runs an 81.0mm bore. Having this knowlege i know i can order forged 8:1 pistons meant for a 4agze but request the lower section be identicle tot he 1gz piston. However if the stroke were different that might cause a problem so when i did the reasearch again the 1gz runs an 80.6mm stroke to the 4agze 77.8mm IM ON A ROLL!!. the 8:1 pistons on the slightly longer stroke will take me to about 8.5:1 range. which is perfect for me. Rods im still researching but when in doubt custom can be brought out.
The research is still in progess but more to come
I swear im not crazy.

Why not bore and stroke the 1UZ to 5.0 liters? Saves a few grand in import fees, swap labor, and cost of an engine. We have one member here (a lurker), that has a 5.0 stroker on the SC400 and he was making +300/300 figures. If you're reading this Bob, please speak up with a few details about your setup. Hermosa knows who I'm talking about too.
No no no nooo... this has nothing to do with displacement. i could care less if it was 3.5L or 9L. Unless you have a way of adding 4 more cyl to a 1uzfe it wont make me happy. Plus the import fees? for what? Ive been quoted $4500 to my door for a front cut off a wreck. And besides if i wanted to to this money has obviously flown out the door anyway.
The only reason i WANT to do this.....how many people can say they have a V12 Lexus coupe? Or a Twin Turbo V12 Lexus coupe making 800-1000hp on pump gas?
Go for it! Maybe you can use some of the equipment from the TT setup when it's done, or just build up the two 5 liter sides like a pair of 1JZ-GTEs and use parts from them.

That is what i was thinking.
The engine management part is in the works.... I will find something eventually. this is just an idea in the looney stages so anybody with any ideas pitch em over.
what are the measurements (cubic inches, h/w/d if possible) for the v8, v12, and engine bay? and how in god's name would yu mate it up to the existing transmission, or are yu assuming youd be teaming it up with the transmission from the century?

I would DEFINEATELY use the century transmission. its one tough SOB. Weight factor- its not much heavier than the 1uzfe, but enough to throw off the balance yes. but thats a problem that can be solved like any other.
Dont look at the problems, look at possible solutions
