Question MagnaFlow question?

Hi guys I've enjoy your expert and informative postings.
I have 97 SC300 and just bought pair of MagnaFlow 14829s and debating about getting my pipes done too, if I remove the resonators and replace the Y-pipes would that make difference in sound rather than just replacing the mufflers? I don't want to go too loud but want deeeeep sound.
You guys think 2.25" will do the trick?

Thanks

Without the resonator being removed, you'll not notice any difference from the stock exhaust system. I suggest that you remove the resonators if you want exhaust sound louder than stock.

Well...
I had custom piping from the resonators to the mufflers. 2.5"
And the total labor fee was 130 dollars.
