Angry Tranny issues HELP!!!

]Long time reader, first time poster...

Having some issues with my transmission right now. It was rebuilt in 2009, and I've maybe put about 45,000 miles on it since. As of yesterday, I can't reverse, but that's it. When I'm driving, it runs fine, shifts fine, no issues. Overdrive works as normal. When I get into neutral, it acts as if I'm in drive. All the linkage is shifting correctly, and it doesn't shift hard. The fluid is brown, doesn't smell burnt though, and is at the proper level. Any insight or suggestions would be great guys... Thanks!!

It sounds like the nut on the lever at the bottom of the car has loosened and allowed the linkage to become misaligned.

You can loosen the control rod nut that I'm talking about, and push the lever on the side of the transmission all the way forward (should be park), then reattach the rod with it in park in the car, and tighten. The lights should align to the corresponding gear.

It sounds hard, but is incredibly easy. Just make sure you have the ebrake up and someone in the car to make your life easier (ON JACK STANDS SECURED IN PLACE).
