Im looking to buy a 2jz gte twin turbo (bolt on) for my 92 lexus sc300
I found one from Tiger Japanese Auto Parts but ive heard bad things about them.
So I was wondering who the best supplier is to buy from??
try and find a shop near you that you can actually go to and look at the motor set before buying... not much help i know but thats what i would do if i was paying $2+k on a motor that sat around for awhile.
They have RHD cars registered, and because of this they are dominating the Salvage JDM Market right now.
I'd rather buy from Canada (As I have 4 different times, top notch every time) then go to some New Jersey Junkyard that sells JDM stuff.
Gotta agree. I live up here near niagara falls and have been to a bunch of jdm dealers around the toronto area.. Alot of neat jdm stuff we don't see arond here and great clean quality parts. Alot of "dog houses" where it's the front half of the car. Nice to see the actual mileage on an odometer instead of seeing an engine on a pallet and the guy selling it says" yeah it's only got 50'000 km on it.. it's just dirty from storage"
Sounds good.
I just don't want to throw down 2200 and find out its a **** motor.
I was told by one of my friends not to buy from Tiger Japanese auto parts bc they will rip u off and send the motor in different peices rather then the full block.
Any other suggestions for a good motor supplier?
Jspec...there's one right up the street from my house and I go there alot.there swaps are very clean and they usaully write the mileage down before they pull it out the donor car.
Sounds good.

I've bought a lot of engines from tiger over the past 5 years. I've never had one come in pieces. I've had a lot of sensors broken but you get what you pay for. I've had good luck with there customer service too. I will say that they don't do as much prep work as other suppliers we use though. Your also purchasing an engine that is probably 15+ years old so you have to expect some wear and tear. But if there was a supplier in my immediate area I would definitely try to hand pick my engine.
i bought my 1jz vvti a couple years ago from JDM Engine Depot. it was the cleanest used engine i'd ever seen, and it was super quiet when i got it all running. i recommend them.
