Default LSD or Faulty diff??

I recently bought my 1995 SC300 and just this weekend i took it out for some fun. My friend has an Identiacal 1995 SC300. we stopped on a black top road and done a burnout side by side. I noticed mine when it broke loose the rear end came out from under me n the cars rear started moving toward his car. pulled ahead. my car left 2 marks, his only one.. pulled ahead n did it again and both my wheels spin. tried to do a donut and it worked at first then only one wheel started spining... this car is completely stock so i doubt the previous owner added an LSD so could this just be a fault in the open diff?

what you describe is typical of an open differential, The power being put to the wheels will try to find the easiest way to the ground. a lot of open diffs will roast both tires when at a stand still but as soon as you try to turn the inner wheel will always tend to peal out first. Sometimes having old oil that has broken down effects the performance of the diff.

There is nothing wrong with your diff, its working exactly the way it was designed to

Hmm. I though that with an open diff only one tire spins all the time and the other one just spins freely. Well good to know that it has nothing wrong with it but I do want a LSD installed in my SC3 sometime bc I am wanting to set it up for drift
